A comprehensive analysis conducted by The Indian Express, facilitated by the Right to Information Act, reveals a concerning state of affairs in over 200 community health centres (CHCs) and primary health centres (PHCs) across 52 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Stranded in various stages of completion, these health facilities grapple with a spectrum of challenges ranging from structural deficiencies, like the absence of doors and windows, to incomplete constructions caused by missing staircases. Compounded by financial discrepancies and waning institutional interest leading to stalled construction projects, these health centers remain ensnared in a state of limbo, some dating as far back as 2005.
